Farm Credit East is offering farmers' market grants up to $500.
Grant funding may be used to support participating farmers, market enhancements, marketing efforts and/or programs to support disadvantaged communities or improve access to fresh, local food.
Farmers' markets provide an important channel for Northeast producers to market and sell their products as well as connect with consumers.
Note that these grants are intended for public markets where multiple farms sell products, not for individual farm markets.
Eligibility Criteria
• Farmers' markets must be within Farm Credit East’s seven state territories: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York and Rhode Island. Please note, this excludes Clinton and Essex counties in New York and Cheshire, Coos, Grafton and Sullivan counties in New Hampshire.
• Preference will be given to worthy applicants that are seeking support for the first time. Special consideration will also be given to markets serving underserved communities with limited access to fresh, local food.
• Awards will be made at the sole discretion of Farm Credit East.
