The Amazon Launchpad Innovation Grants give Australian businesses the chance to win one of five grants, each worth more than $200,000.
Amazon Launchpad is an exclusive program that showcases innovative products from startups and emerging brands like yours to millions of Amazon customers.
Funding Information
Prize package overall value is worth more than AUD $200,000 (“Prize”). The Prize package consists of:
• $20,000 AUD cash prize;
• Amazon Advertising display credits and access to A+ Premium content pages with an ad agency of Amazon’s choosing to promote the winning product on Amazon.com.au with agency management fees paid by Amazon (“Amazon Advertising DSP Credits”). The advertising campaign will be managed by the ad agency on behalf of the Winner and will run on the Amazon Demand Side Platform (the “Amazon DSP”). Winners’ use of the Amazon DSP is governed by the Amazon DSP Agreement (as amended from time to time) which Winner agrees to. The Amazon Advertising DSP Credits must be used on the Amazon DSP between 1 July – 2021 and 30 September 2021. Winner must have the winning product for sale on Amazon.com.au between 1 June 2021 and 31 December 2021;
• An Amazon SMB experience –access to Amazon leadership from Australia and HQ in Seattle, access to Amazon’s start-up and entrepreneur experts, time with successful e-commerce savvy Australian SMBs, insights from angel investors in the Venture Capital community, and networking opportunities;
• A featured Seller Spotlight placement on the Amazon Launchpad Homepage;
• A national advertising package with JCDecaux Nurture, including a JCDecaux media campaign to be developed by JCDecaux and an opportunity to attend a JCDecaux brand and creative workshop. JCDecaux prizes must be redeemed by 31 July 2021;
• A marketing package with Pinstripe Media, including a Pinstripe media campaign to be developed by Pinstripe Media. This must be redeemed by 1 December 2021. Travel costs will not be included and assets to be provided by the brands. Assets will not be created by Pinstripe Media. All taxes (excluding GST) which may be payable as a consequence of receiving a prize are the sole responsibility of the Winners. All other ancillary costs including but not limited to insurance, taxes (excluding GST), and any and all other expenses are the responsibility of the Winners.
Eligibility Criteria
• The Participating Brand must have an existing physical consumer product that is available for sale to the public;
• The Participating Brand must be self-owned by an Australian resident and the entrant must be 18 years or older at the time of entry;
• The Participating Brand’s operations must solely be based in Australia;
• The Participating Brand must be a small or medium sized business as determined by Amazon;
• The Participating Brand must have a valid trademark;
• Must not be a prior winner of a 2020 Amazon Launchpad Innovation Grant.
Note: Employees and their immediate families of the Promoter, and its agencies are ineligible to enter.
Judging Criteria
• All entries will be judged individually on their merits and the top ten (10) entries as determined by the Promoter will proceed to the next stage of judging, where each Participating Brand behind those top ten entries will be asked to present a virtual pitch to a judging panel via video conference (“Virtual Pitch”).
• Five (5) winners will then be picked from the Virtual Pitch by the judging panel based on the judging criteria set by the Promoter, which includes the following:
o Physical consumer products that best reflect and support the changing way of life in Australia;
o Innovation and creativity;
o How the grant package will benefit your business.
• The five (5) winners, as determined by the judges, will each receive a Prize (“Winners”).
