Managed by Tourism Australia’s business events unit, Business Events Australia, the Business Events Boost Program delivers specific, measurable, and achievable activity for marketing or distribution initiatives that have the potential to influence decision makers of national business events and/or convert new domestic business events held in Australia.
The Business Events Boost Program offers the opportunity to partner with Tourism Australia and leverage marketing and distribution expertise to deliver initiatives and activity that promote and rebuild national business events.
The Business Events Boost Program offers partnerships with Tourism Australia that are determined via a submission and assessment process.
The Business Events Boost Program supports a range of activity including but not limited to…
• Content creation and collateral including video and/or still photography.
• Marketing assets for domestic bidding and for the conversion of new national events.
• Unique and strategic delegate boosting initiatives.
• Digital marketing activity including social media or website enhancements.
• Communication activity such as direct mail, microsites, public relations activity or editorial coverage.
• Media buy and marketing campaigns with amplification strategies.
• Virtual reality and online site inspections.
• Qualified distribution and business development activity including targeted familarisation trips.
Eligibility Criteria
Submissions to the Business Events Boost Program will be assessed against Mandatory Eligibility Criteria to ensure activities:
• Have the potential to influence decision makers of national business events and/or drive conversion of new domestic business events.
• Activity must demonstrate innovation, creative ideas and explain how Tourism Australia’s marketing and/or distribution expertise will be leveraged and should not be ‘business as usual’ activity.
• Must be for domestic face to face corporate meetings, corporate incentives, conferences and exhibitions or association meetings. Social or family groups, weddings, student groups, sports groups, or leisure tour groups will not be supported.
• Have a minimum funding request of AUD$10,000.
• Have a matched funding contribution value which can be direct financial contribution, value in-kind contribution, or a combination.
• All activity takes place in the 2021/22 financial year with all projects completed by 30 June 2022.
• Applicants must have at least 12 months demonstrated domestic business events experience in corporate incentives, corporate meetings, exhibitions or association meetings. The program is not designed to support activities to aide entry into the business events industry.
