Smaller businesses affected by coronavirus restrictions can apply for a discretionary support grant, also known as an additional restrictions grant.
This grant is for Leeds businesses that have not received any other business support grants.
It is designed to try and help:
• self-employed people
• businesses based at home or other domestic property
• businesses that operate from a vehicle, such as driving instructors and taxi drivers who live in Leeds
• businesses with commercial property costs of less than £4,000 a year
• smaller supply chain businesses
• businesses that are not registered to pay business rates
Funding Information
You will get a single, one off payment of:
• £500 if you are a sole trader or limited company and only employ yourself
• £1,000 if you are a partnership or you employ other people
What you can use it for
This grant is to help you pay fixed business and property costs, such as:
• rent and service charges for business premises
• business related insurance such as public liability insurance
• commercial vehicle costs
• membership fees to a professional body
• essential licence costs
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for this grant your business must:
• be based in Leeds
• be run full time or part time
• be registered as a sole trader, partnership or limited company
• have not received any other business support grants from us or the government
• operate from your home, a vehicle, or a commercial premises with property costs of less than £4,000 a year
• have fixed business costs that you need to keep paying
• have been impacted by coronavirus restrictions since March 2020
If your business started trading before 1 January 2018, you can only apply if you are:
• in retail
• in hospitality and events
• in leisure (including travel and personal care)
• in childcare
• part of the supply chain to these sectors (providing goods or services)
