New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) is inviting applicants for its New Zealand International Business Awards 2021.

Award Categories
• General categories
o Best Emerging Business
 Recognising success by net return to the New Zealand economy, for businesses earlier in their international growth journey or, as a guide, will likely have annual revenue up to $10 million.
o Best Established Business, brought to you by ANZ
 Recognising success by net return to the New Zealand economy for more established businesses, with five years or more in export markets or, as a guide, will likely have annual revenue above $10 million.
• Specialist categories
o Excellence in Digital Commerce Transformation
 Recognising where an exporter's adoption and integration of digital commerce strategy, technology, tools and/or mindset has transformed their business model, culture and approach to success in trading internationally.
o Excellence in Sustainability, brought to you by ANZ
 Recognising organisations that embed sustainability into the fabric of their business, achieving international growth while having a positive impact on people and the planet.
o He Kai Kei Āku Ringa for Māori Excellence in Export 
 Recognising the contribution of Māori business to the New Zealand export economy – the approach, values and tikanga that underpin and uniquely define Māori business. 
o Innovation in Response to COVID-19
 Recognising success in developing and commercialising innovation in international markets in response to COVID-19 and its impacts. This incorporates all aspects of innovation; products, strategy, processes etc.
o Inspiring Women Leaders, brought to you by Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade
 Recognising women leaders with the skills and perspectives to lead from a uniquely New Zealand perspective, while maintaining a broad global outlook.
o Leveraging Investment for International Growth
 Recognising success in progressing an international growth strategy through investment.

Who can enter?
• The NZIBA Awards are open to any New Zealand business that sells goods or services in international markets. There is no cost to submit an entry.
• All special categories are open for nomination.
• Nominators are asked to complete a basic form with nominee details, nominees are then followed up with to submit further details.
• Self-nominees can skip the nomination process and simply complete an application for desired category with the exception of the 'Inspiring Women Leaders' category.

Entry Criteria
To enter the NZIBA all entrants must:
• be registered with the New Zealand Companies Office
• not be under investigation by any New Zealand or international statutory body (e.g. Accident Compensation Corporation, New Zealand Police, Health and Disability Commission, Inland Revenue).
• agree that, in respect of NZIBA entries only, New Zealand Trade and Enterprise can:
o update its client records from the information provided by the entrant; and
o obtain a Equifax Business Report check.

All entrants must also demonstrate:
• sustained and future commitment to international business and to New Zealand
• proven business strategies
• quality goods and services
• sound business and brand reputation, on and offshore
• sustainable business principles
• capacity and capability for future growth.
