The Howard County Economic Development Authority (HCEDA) is seeking applications for round 4 of HoCo Rise Business Grants Applications for restaurants and hotels.
The purpose of this grant is to provide funding to support Howard County hotels and restaurants located in Howard County who have been affected by COVID-19.
Funding Information
• Hotels- TBD (Up to $25,000 based upon hotel size)
• Restaurants- TBD (Up to $12,000)
Eligible uses of funds include reimbursement for the costs of business interruption caused by the COVID-19 mandated business closures, or for costs required to re-open safely. This grant may be used to cover expenses incurred beginning March 1, 2020.
Eligible uses of funds include:
• Hotels
o Normal operating costs, such as rent, payroll, job training, taxes, debt service, or similar costs
o Purchase of PPE, sanitization services, or other COVID-19 related costs
• Restaurants
o Working capital, such as rent, payroll, and job training
o Purchase of equipment and services to expand outdoor dining, such as tents, heaters, warmers, and carts
o Infrastructure improvements, such as HVAC system upgrades
o Technology to support carry out and delivery
o Purchase of PPE and disposable food containers and utensils
o Sanitization services
o Any other costs permitted under a COVD-19 restaurant assistance program that Grantee, or any municipal corporation located within Grantee’s jurisdiction, may already be operating as of the effective date of this Agreement.
