The Lancaster City Council is seeking applications for its Restarting Safely Grants programme.

These grants are intended to help public-facing businesses that have been severely impacted to re-open safely to the public. They are intended to support the re-opening of the economy safely by providing the funds to enable the purchase of in-person covid-secure measures such as face masks, hand sanitiser, rigorous cleaning regimes of premises and equipment.

Funding Information
Grants are issued as a one-off lump sum payment in the following amounts:
Businesses with a rateable value
• Rateable value of business – £15,000 and under: £1400
• Rateable value of business – £15,001 – £50,999: £2100
• Rateable value of business – £51,000 or over: £3150
Businesses with no rateable value but fixed business costs
• Fixed business costs (annual) – £0 – £999: £300
• Fixed business costs (annual) – £1,000 – £3,000: £375
• Fixed business costs (annual) – £3,001 – £6,000: £750
• Fixed business costs (annual) – £6,001 – £15,000: £1350
• Fixed business costs (annual) – £15,001 – £30,000: £2100
• Fixed business costs (annual) – £30,001 – £50,999: £2625
• Fixed business costs (annual) – £51,000 +: £3150

Eligibility Criteria
• Businesses that deliver a direct in-person service to the public or businesses that are food and/or drink suppliers to an in-person public facing business e.g. outside caterers
• Businesses which have been severely impacted by the local restrictions in place since 17 October 2020
• Businesses that are formed and are ‘trading’ on 1 April 2021. Trading can be preparing to re-open, having staff on furlough or engaging in other valid business activity
• Businesses which operate in the area covered by Lancaster City Council
