The Lancaster City Small Business Emergency Fund was created to provide emergency relief to small businesses located in Lancaster City struggling due to the economic impact of the COVID-19 shutdown. The focus of the fund is to support vulnerable small businesses in local communities that have disproportionately not received federal funding support.
This Fund will also focus on investing in the success of those businesses most critically impacted by COVID-19, specifically Lancaster City’s small businesses in the food service, salon and barber shop, arts and entertainment industries. Additionally, the Grant program will be complemented with a required 6-week training program offered exclusively to small business owners in the food service industry and facilitated by the Women’s Business Center at ASSETS.
This fund is intended to support an inclusive and diverse small business environment within Lancaster City. Businesses with up to $2 million in annual revenue may apply.
Funding Information
• ONLY food service and restaurant businesses with annual revenue up to $250,000. Grant awardees must commit to a 6-week business development training
o $8,000-$10,000; final amount determined by the review committee
• ONLY food service and restaurant businesses with annual revenue between $250,001-$500,000. Grant awardees must commit to a 6-week business development training
o $11,000-$15,000; final amount determined by the review committee
Business Qualifications
The grant program is ONLY available to Accommodation, Food and Drinking Places Businesses with the NAICS code designations of 721 and 722. Examples include restaurants, bakeries, butchers, and other food service businesses. No other type of business is eligible to apply for the grant and training program.
Eligibility Criteria
• Businesses can apply for a grant and a loan, as eligible, and are encouraged to consider the best solution for their business based upon cash needs and ability to take on more debt.
• Businesses under $500,000 in annual revenue can apply for BOTH a grant and a loan.
• Businesses between $500,001 – $2 million in annual revenue are eligible to apply for a loan ONLY.
• Owners of multiple businesses can only apply for funding for ONE of their businesses.
• Business must operate within Lancaster City.
