The North Northamptonshire Council is seeking applications for its Discretionary Restart Grant to support businesses which offer in person services that are still facing disruption to reopen safely as Covid 19 restrictions are limited but do not have a rateable value (RV).
The North Northamptonshire Discretionary Restart Grant is a locally developed scheme funded via the Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG) allocated by central government to local authorities (business rate billing authorities) to administer.
Funding Information
• For properties with a rateable value of £15,000 or under OR Micro Business (0-9 employees) with no rateable value: £2,191 grant
• For properties with a rateable value of over £15,000 and below £51,000 OR Small Business (10-49 employees) with no rateable value: £3,286 grant
• For properties with a rateable value of £51,000 or over OR Medium Business (50-250 employees) with no rateable value: £4,928 grant
Eligibility Criteria
• The Government guidance issued in November 2020 gives the Council discretion over the grant and support scheme, and the Councils decisions regarding the scheme will be final.
• The North Northamptonshire Discretionary Restart Scheme is designed for the following business who are not eligible for the mandatory Restart Scheme as their business does not have a rateable value (EV). This includes the following sectors:
o Non-Essential Retail
o Hospitality
o Leisure
o Accommodation
o Gyms & Sports
o Personal Care
• Eligible businesses must have been open and trading on.1st April 2021
Companies that are in administration, are insolvent or where a striking-off notice has been made are not eligible for funding under this scheme.
