Type of Fund: Grant

Deadline Available: Available

Deadline Date (mm/dd/yyyy): 06/30/2021

Size of the Fund: Less than USD $50,000

Plymouth City Council is seeking applications for its Restart Grant to help businesses reopen safely. Eligible businesses will receive a one-off grant to help their business as Covid-19 restrictions are gradually lifted.

Grant Payments
Businesses will receive the following amounts depending on the type of business.
• Non-essential retail businesses
o For properties with a rateable value of £15,000 or under, a grant of £2,667
o For properties with a rateable value over £15,000 and less than £51,000, a grant of £4,000
o For properties with a rateable value of £51,000 or over, a grant of £6,000.
• Hospitality, leisure, accommodation, personal care and gym businesses
o For properties with a rateable value of £15,000 or under, a grant of £8,000
o For properties with a rateable value over £15,000 and less than £51,000, a grant of £12,000
o For properties with a rateable value of £51,000 or over, a grant of £18,000.
If a business falls into more than one category, the main service (and therefore grant amount) will be determined by assessing which category constitutes 50 per cent or more of their overall business.
Eligibility Criteria
• The grant is available to businesses if they are:
o rate-paying
o trading on 1 April 2021
o in the non-essential retail, hospitality, accommodation, leisure, personal care or gym sectors.
• Businesses will not be eligible for the grant if they:
o are not within the ratings system
o have already received grant payments that equal the maximum permitted subsidy allowances
o are in administration, insolvent or where a striking-off notice has been made.

Application
• Businesses must complete an application form in order to claim their Restart Grant.
• Plymouth City Council is aiming to make grant payments to eligible businesses within two weeks of receiving their application.
• As part of the application process, all businesses will be required to self-certify that they meet the above eligibility criteria.
