Applicants are invited to apply for the Point.IoT programme to tackle crucial industry problems using the combined powers of IoT and Galileo technologies.

The challenges are a result of careful thought and extensive investigation into where Galileo can make a positive impact on IoT solutions. Your technical, business and creative skills will be tested as you generate innovative solutions that adhere to stringent IoT power requirements. Feel free to utilise enabling technologies such as an LPWAN communication layer to support your solution and enhance the performance of Galileo. Don’t forget – these solutions must bring added value to your customers at an enticing price point.

The Callenges
• Challenge #1
o Transport & Logistics in a Connected World: Efficient transportation services for both people and goods are essential to maintain effective cross-border trade and fuel economic activity throughout Europe. However, the process of moving individuals and products from Point A to Point B is never simple. In this challenge, you’ll be asked to design and develop the next generation of IoT products serving the transport & logistics industries. They encourage participants to think about transportation across rail, road, sea and air.
• Challenge #2
o Mobile Robotics & Automation as a Competitive Edge: The integration of IoT, together with automation and robotics, is one way companies can leverage technology to remain competitive. In this challenge, your task is to design and develop an IoT solution that uses robotics to improve precision and efficiencies in the manufacturing and delivery of everyday products. They welcome ground-based or airborne robotics and automation solutions.

• €20,000 Cash: All ten teams will pitch but only one will take home the grand prize.

Evaluation Criteria
Each application will be evaluated against these six criteria.
• Market potential
o Does the solution have strong market potential?
• Level of innovation
o Does the solution demonstrate a high level of innovation?
• Technical feasibility
o Is the technology implemented in the solution ready for development?
• Sustainability in the project
o Is the solution supported by a strong and proven set of skills amongst the team?
• Business model
o Does the solution have a clear commercialisation strategy?
• Quality of the proposal
o Does the application demonstrate a high level of preparation and consideration for the program?
