Ryedale District Council Small Business Development Grant Scheme

The Ryedale Small Business Development Grant Scheme has been developed by Ryedale District Council to help with start-up costs for new businesses or to assist existing businesses to grow and strengthen their market position, expand into new markets or to address recruitment or skill shortages.

The Ryedale Small Business Development Grant Scheme has been developed by Ryedale District Council to help with start-up costs for new businesses or to assist existing businesses to grow and strengthen their market position, expand into new markets or to address recruitment or skill shortages.

The scheme will encourage the formation of new enterprises and stimulate the growth of established small and medium businesses as they recover from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Grant payments will be provided to help towards the cost of new machinery and equipment, marketing, digital projects and recruitment to allow businesses to adapt and diversify following the impact of COVID-19.

Funding Information
A total of £30,000 is available with the maximum amount for a single grant capped at £5,000.

What can you apply for?
The grant can be used towards the following costs:
• Machinery or equipment that helps a business to increase production, produce a new product, deliver a new service or that will help to improve efficiency.
• Adapting premises to allow safe and socially distanced working (excluding structural repairs or maintenance of existing buildings or installation of utilities)
• Premises improvements which lead to increased staffing, new product or service development or increased efficiency.
• Marketing activity where it will allow entry to new markets, increased sales and job retention, or creation or where it will address a recruitment/skills need. This could include website development, creation or development of mobile Apps, or marketing training.

Who can apply?
• Applications can be made by any business employing fewer than 250 employees which are located within the Ryedale District Council boundary.
• Businesses must be solvent and must evidence this by providing the latest bank statement.
