Applicants are invited to apply for the Urbantech Program 2021, the selected startups team up with three Danish corporate companies, to create pilot solutions within the urban technology – which often blossom into longer-term business relationships.
Urbantech is a non-equity, pilot-focused accelerator program founded in Denmark in 2019.
The program is hosted by BLOXHUB, which is part of the newly built, state-of-the-art building BLOX on the Copenhagen waterfront. BLOXHUB is an urban tech hub that brings companies, organizations and researchers together to co-create solutions for better cities. The program is powered by Rainmaking.
The program is structured like a traditional accelerator with a 3-month onsite program, but unlike other accelerators our end-goal is to create meaningful partnerships between startups and partners. During the program, they will help you grow your startup and engage you with the partners of the program. After Demo Day, you will additionally have the opportunity to stick around for an extra 3 months.
This should be an enjoyable process for all parties, and they don’t want any barriers to keep you from joining the program. That’s why they don’t take any equity. Instead, they will give you €15.000 to join, and to help you cover travel and living expenses while in Copenhagen. All they require from your team is commitment to the program and its partners. On top they will offer several benefits and free services.

• Tailored pilot support
o The selected startups receive expert support from the Rainmaking team. Urbantech helps its startups grow and find product/market fit.
• Masterclasses
o The program offers expert-led sessions covering all scaling and design fundamentals – as well as how to partner with complex large organizations and run successful pilots.
• Mentoring
o Urbantech offers selected mentorship from industry experts, who provide hands-on support and valuable introductions.
• Network access
o The selected startups receive access to the Urbantech co-working space at BLOXHUB and its extensive network for the entire duration of the program – until three months after the Cohort’s Demo Day.
• Expenses Contribution
o Each startup will receive a grant to cover participation costs. Additional benefits are provided by Amazon Web Services, Microsoft for Startups and Startup with IBM.
