The Individual Small Business Fund – Australia

Surf Coast Shire Council has introduced two $100,000 grant programs to support Individual Small Businesses impacted by the COVID-19 Pandemic.

The objective of this program is to provide funding opportunities, developing initiatives and proposals that assist a small business to recover from COVID-19. These funds will support innovation and build capacity by encouraging investment in e-Commerce, new technologies and environmental outcomes.

Funding Information
• Grant pool $100,000.
• Available grants to the value of $5,000

Types of project that may be funded include:
• investment in business training and skills development
• building marketing skills and/or investment in marketing systems
• brand development and strategy
• promotional and marketing campaigns with measurable targets
• investment in digital technologies that aim to create new markets or grow existing markets
• development of an alternative service delivery model
• business continuity planning
• financial management systems
• activities that create local employment
• investment in systems and technologies that reduce energy consumption/costs

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, businesses must:
• have its principal place of business located within the Surf Coast Shire
• hold an active ABN since March 2020
• have been trading for a minimum of 12 months prior to the 1st of March 2021
• employ < 20 people
• be compliant with the relevant local, state and federal legislation
• be able to demonstrate that their business has been adversely impacted by COVID-19 restrictions and lockdowns
• demonstrate what financial support previously has been sought and received
• show capacity to carry out project
• have a realistic budget for their project
• hold appropriate current public liability insurance
