Pontiac Community Foundation will award 10 grants of up to $2,500 to small businesses in Pontiac that are struggling due to the impact of COVID-19.
Its goal is to ensure small businesses receive much-needed capital during this time. Support for this grant program is provided by the Pontiac Funders Collaborative.
Funding Information
Ten (10) micro-grants of up to $2,500 each will be awarded to small business owners in the City of Pontiac, Michigan. These grants are meant to assist businesses that have been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 crisis. Use of this funding is flexible as identified by the small business owner, with particular focus on utilizing funding for the following purposes:
• Payroll costs for employees and contractual labor
• Rent, lease, mortgage payments and utilities for the business
• COVID-19-related expenses including PPE and sanitation supplies
• Cost of critical business operations
• Creative solutions for revenue generation through COVID-19
Eligibility Criteria
• To be eligible for this program, the following criteria must be followed:
o Business must be located within the City of Pontiac, Michigan
o Business is identified as a small business with less than 25 employees
o Have a Federal Employment Identification Number (EIN)
• The following are considered priorities for our grant funding. However, small businesses that do not fit this criteria will still be considered and will not be excluded from receiving funding.
o Small businesses owned and operated by minorities/people of color
o Small businesses that operate a brick and mortar space
o Businesses whose owner(s) are Pontiac residents
o Businesses who have not received other forms of grant funding
