Kickstart is an initiative by Headstart Network foundation that aims to take the pitch decks of high potential fundable startups to multiple Angel Investors and Venture Capitalists from across India and make connections/introductions for them.
Profiles of fundable startups are shared with active angel investors, venture capitalists, or program managers with the country’s leading incubators and accelerators. After inviting applications, the startups are shortlisted by Headstart on a rolling basis. Every month, 8-10 startups are invited to a virtual pitch event. Investors may set up one on one meetings with startups they are interested in funding or having funding discussions.
What they are looking for in the top startups:
• Does the startup solve a big problem in a big, fast-growing market?
• How good is the traction?
• Does the team have the wherewithal to become a market leader?
• Does the startup have a sustainable competitive advantage?
• How is your idea influencing society or making an impact in your target segment?
Eligibility Criteria
• Startups must have been in operation for at least 5 months.
• At least 1 founder must be working full time with the startup.
• Startup must be a registered Private Limited / LLP company in India (or in process of registering).
• Must have an active website.
• Idea stage startups are NOT eligible to participate.
