The Innovation Vouchers Program is an initiative of the WA Government's New Industries Fund, which assists start-ups and small businesses to commercialise their ideas and innovations and expand to create jobs.
Objectives
Under the New Industries Fund, the Innovation Vouchers Program objectives are:
• Stimulate the WA start-up and small business sectors by supporting innovation initiatives.
• Decrease the commercialisation gap.
• Activate industry-government-research collaborations.
• Increase research and development (R&D) investment into WA.
• Promote job creation and economic diversification in WA.
The purpose of the Innovation Vouchers Program is to:
• help develop new or enhanced commercially-ready products or services
• establish prototypes, processes or systems to attract additional investment
• address a particular technical problem that cannot be solved by the applicant, or for which the solution is not readily available.
Funding Information
• The program allows for funding up to $20,000 vouchers to be awarded to eligible start-ups and small businesses.
• Funds are available for claiming between 2 August 2021 to 30 June 2022.
Eligibility Criteria
• You are developing an innovation or innovative idea.
• You are a WA-based start-up or small business that employs between one and 200 people.
• Your business has a current Australian Business Number (ABN) and/or Australian Company Number (ACN).
• Your business is registered in WA.
• You are developing your idea or innovation in WA.
• Your business will contribute a net cash co-investment of at least 20:80 of applicant to State Government funding.
• You have NOT received an Innovation Voucher previously for the same project/initiative.
