The SDG Innovation Pre-Accelerator Programme, presented by The Base by CyprusInno, is a hybrid live and virtual pre-acceleration program using a blended methodology of ideation, business panning, pitching, networking, and mentorship to empower young social innovators from all across Cyprus ages 18-35 to tackle island-wide challenges related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
A pre-accelerator is a programme focused on early stage startups and helps take them from concept to MVP (minimum viable product). It is meant for early stage founders or simply those with an idea who have the ambition to take their startup or idea full-time.
Criteria
The Base by CyprusInno invites teams of young innovators 18-35 who aim to tackle one or more of the SDGs to submit their idea or their startup to be considered for CyprusInno's SDG Innovation Pre-Accelerator Programme!
A pre-accelerator programme empowering young innovators from across the island 18-35 with an idea or startup solving a Global Challenge to maximize their impact.
• Expert evaluation and feedback on you idea/startup from an expert jury of evaluators during application process
• Free 2-day bootcamp/training on business model canvas, pitching, etc., as well as access to mentorship
• Access to mentors, office/co-working space at The Base by CyprusInno, and networking opportunities
The Social Innovation Impact Generator will occur over four phases!
• Phase 1: Ideation (April/May)
o Teams are invited to submit their ideas tackling the SDGs.
• Phase 2: Evaluation (April/May)
o An expert panel of evaluators will assess all submitted ideas and provide feedback. Ideas that fit the criteria for acceptance (assessed by measures of feasibility, problem solving, innovative thinking, quality, etc.) will be invited to attend the bootcamp.
• Phase 3: Weekend Bootcamp (June)
o Selected teams will participate in a two-day training and pitching bootcamp where they will work on business model canvas and pitching. Teams will also be matched with expert mentors.
• Phase 4: Ongoing Support (July-Onwards)
o Support on next steps after the program in the form of office space and support from CyprusInno, as well as networking opportunities and connections with relevant stakeholders.
