The Torridge District Council has introduced a new grant scheme to support businesses that are experiencing difficulties because of the Omicron variant, and the dual impact of staff absences and lower consumer demand.
Torridges Discretionary Additional Restrictions Grant – Eligible Sector programme has been amended to support businesses who are impacted by COVID-19.
Funding Information
Grant awards are discretionary and will be calculated on an individual basis, with payment amounts to be between £250 and £6,000.
Eligible Sectors
New Additional Restrictions Grant from January 2022 – one-off Discretionary Grant for businesses in the following sectors:
• Hospitality (non-business rate payers only)
• Leisure (non-business rate payers only)
• Accommodation (non-business rate payers only)
• Travel and tourism (business rate and non-business rate payers) including group travel, travel agents and tour operators, coach operators, English language schools
• Personal Care (business rate and non-business rate payers)
• Supply chain to the above industries (business rate and non-business rate payers) for example wedding industries, events industries, wholesalers, breweries/wineries, freelance and mobile businesses (including caterers, events, hair, beauty and wedding related businesses), non-essential retail, essential retail, taxi drivers, catteries and kennels, accommodation support services, food kiosks/businesses whose main service is a takeaway.
