The program is available to businesses and not-for-profits.
Eligibility Streams
• Stream 1: Major anchor attractions in urban areas (business or not-for-profit)
• Stream 2: Major anchor attractions in rural areas (business or not-for-profit)
• Stream 3: Tour bus companies
Funding Information
• Stream 1: Major anchor attractions in urban areas: Up to $1 million
• Stream 2: Major anchor attractions in rural areas: Up to $500,000
• Stream 3: Tour bus companies: Up to $500,000
Eligibility Criteria
• For businesses: The majority share of the organization (at least 51%) is owned by one or more B.C. residents
• For not-for-profits: The majority control of the organization (at least 51%) is carried out by B.C. residents
• Must be currently operating and financially viable before February 1, 2020
o Seasonal or temporarily closed attractions may be eligible if they qualify as one of three eligibility streams
• Must be registered to operate in B.C. and its primary operations are located in and conducted in B.C.
• Must not presently be in default of payment of tax obligations that arose prior to the 2020 tax year
• Must have taken advantage of all other COVID-19 relief programs you're aware of
• Must demonstrate a need for support to remain open and operational at minimal levels
• Must have at least a 30% reduction in revenue for the period from April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021 when compared with the same period from 2019 to 2020
• Must be market ready according to Destination BC standards (PDF, 1.1MB)
• Must be willing to make best efforts to recall back to work any willing and available employees who were laid off due to COVID without reducing their wages, vacation pay or other compensation.
