The Refresh and Reopen grant scheme has been developed by the Borough Council of King's Lynn & West Norfolk, using the government's Additional Restrictions funding.
The grant is available to help local independent businesses to support the safe reopening of premises that might otherwise struggle to comply with necessary government guidance brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Refresh and Reopen Grant supports businesses who without this award would struggle to:
• refresh their premises
• support their reopening
• make adaptions to meet social distancing requirements
Refreshing a premises:
• makes an impact on the attractiveness and safety of a business
• makes an area feel more welcoming to local residents and visitors
• improve the area's image, helping to define a stronger sense of place, and encourage a greater number of visits
Funding Information
• The maximum grant available per applicant is £10,000 and applicants must not have previously claimed a grant for the same re-opening activities.
• All grant funding must be fully spent and works completed by 1 August 2021.
Eligibility Criteria
In order to receive the grant you must:
• be trading in west Norfolk
• operate in the retail, hospitality, recreation, leisure, culture, tourism, events or health and beauty sectors (excluding accommodation)
• have not claimed any other specific grant funding for the same items being claimed for
• provide quotes for items being claimed and invoices/receipts prior to final payment
• demonstrate how their project directly assists with the reopening of their business as we move through the roadmap
• be the business that is trading from the premises. Grants will not be awarded for a property which is unoccupied
• not be in administration, insolvent or subject to a Striking Off Notice
• not have exceeded the permitted subsidy limit (previously known as State Aid – link to state aid) in terms of support already received.
