The Entrepreneurship, Leadership and Information Technology (ELIT) National Youth Summer Camp 2021 is a yearly event which started in 2016 and is organised by GYIN Gambia with support from partners.
ELIT 2021 is funded by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) through the Entrepreneurship and Private Sectors Development Project (EPSDP) under the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Regional Integration and Employment (MOTIE) with strategic support from the National Youth Council (NYC).
Theme: Scalling-up of Rural Enterprises with Focus on Financial Literacy
ELIT 2021 targets young women and men, ages 18-35 years, living in rural areas who are involved either in agricultural production, buying and selling of goods and services which includes small ruminants, vegetables and cereal crops.
Eligibility & Selection Criteria
Participants should have interest in one of the following fields:
• Animal husbandry, Small ruminants including poultry, feed, supply of birds and animals as well as marketing
• Horticulture
• Rice Value Chain- processing, transportation and marketing of local rice
• Agro-processing and digital marketing
First time applicants and participants who have not yet benefitted from training support will be given priority in ELIT 2021
Participants will be selected across the country- Banjul Municipal Council, Kanifing Municipality (KM) North Bank Region (NBR), West Coast Region (WCR), Central River Region South and North (CRR/S & N), Lower River Region (LRR) and Upper River Region (URR).
